Why I want to be a Journalist..

From writing stories, to blogging, to TV presenting and being a motivational speaker. My life has revolved around having a deep influence on people with my words. Seeing the reaction of these people and the effect I have on them, keeps me inspired and helps my love for writing, grow. For this reason, I want to pursue a career as a Journalist.

A journalist will always have the privilege of travelling and meeting new people. To be given the chance of seeing 'the real story' and being in the moment to encounter the atmosphere, taking it in and being held responsible for reporting back to readers in detail, of what you have unlocked and identified, throughout your experience. To have the responsibility of bringing back a story to readers who have no idea what is going on in the world. A journalist plays a MAJOR part in the media.

I want to be a journalist because I want the power that comes with it. The power to change a person's perspective and opinions through your words. One thing you write about or report could change a person completely. To know that a piece I have written has had the power to change an individuals thoughts towards a subject, excites me. To have the power of possibly changing the world or making that difference. To be given the chance to inform and update my audiences on current affairs and controversial subjects within their interest. To know people are dependent on my investigation, inspiring me to provide nothing but the best.

Journalism not only allows you to go out and find information on a story, but to find stories. To talk about taboo subjects and using the power of your position, to influence those who are unaware of what is happening around them. Reporting new discoveries and unveiling the truth. Without Journalists, readers and viewers would not be provided with international reporting thus making them blind to the rest of the world. The world is full of beautiful secrets and there are many things waiting to be revealed.

I want to be a Journalist because I want to be the voice of those thousands of people whom don't have one. I want to listen to their stories and share it with the world. Take the information they give me and be creative. Giving these people a chance to finally be heard. People have amazing stories that need to be heard I want to be able to share that with everyone through my writing. I want my writing to influence and inspire in as many ways as possible. That kind of responsibility can change a person's life completely. I want to be responsible for making a difference, to be heard. To go out into the world and find the truths. To publish these truths and give them a chance to be discussed. Overall, the most important role in Journalism that I cannot wait to be in, is To question and find the answer.
